Summary
Three men's desire for a 'change of scene, and absence of the necessity for thought' leads to a trip down the Thames - with hilarious results. Leaving behind 'useless lumber', George, Harris and J. still find packing an Herculean task, even when Montmorency the dog adds helpful hints. They embark on their journey hauling food for a year and clothes for a day. Peppered with anecdotes and seasoned advice, Jerome's sparkling comedy explains how not to get lost in a maze, sing comic songs and makes scrambled eggs - and how not to go on a boating holiday!
