Main title
Record of death and interment of Andover soldiers and sailors
Summary
Includes records of the names; ranks (when known); regiments; places and causes of death; and places of interment and deocration for soldiers and sailors from Andover who served in the Civil War. Following these records, the book includes several hundred handwritten pages of notes from Andover's early Decoration Day and Memorial Day celebrations. It is believed that these accounts were penned by Samuel Raymond, a prominent farmer, postmaster, and military historian. In addition to serving on many town boards and committees, Raymond was the author of The Record of Andover during the Rebellion (1875)
